Our dentist, Dr. Brian Frandsen, and dental team care for you and your smile, which is why we encourage you to do all you can to keep your teeth and gums in tip-top shape. This can help you prevent major dental issues like tooth decay and gum disease. Tooth decay (cavities) and gum disease (periodontal disease) are the most serious and dangerous dental issues. They can alter your oral health and destroy your smile if you’re not careful. So, please prevent them as much as possible by following our dental team’s instructions.

First, clean your smile regularly with a diligent oral hygiene routine. This should involve three special tasks: brushing twice a day, flossing once a day, and rinsing daily. As you do these things, use a soft-bristled toothbrush, fluoride toothpaste, easy-to-use floss, and antibacterial or fluoride mouthwash that have all been approved by the American Dental Association. Brushing, flossing, and rinsing can remove the harmful substances that threaten to create tooth decay and gum disease on a regular basis.

Second, attend your dental checkups every six months. These appointments are crucial for the prevention of tooth decay and gum disease, which is why it’s recommended to visit our office twice a year. These checkups involve deeply cleaning your smile, removing plaque from your teeth and gums (which is the harmful substance that creates both tooth decay and gum disease), and strengthening your tooth enamel.
