As you age, your dental health can worsen. The risks of everyday life eventually begin to take their toll, especially on your teeth. The frequent wear and tear from chewing and eating food can wear your teeth down if you do not practice basic dental health treatments.

The best thing you can do to keep your oral health safe as you age is to remember to brush and floss your teeth every day of your life. The American Dental Association suggests that you brush your teeth twice daily for about 2 minutes per session, and floss every day for at least 2 to 3 minutes per session making sure to clean between each tooth.

Consuming healthy foods will also ensure your teeth will last longer. Stay away from products that can harm your teeth such as acidic foods and sugary products. Your teeth may wear down as you age, so you should avoid foods that can easily crack or fracture your teeth, including hard candies and corn on the cob. In addition, stop dangerous habits to your oral health such as smoking tobacco and using drugs.
